Shuls (10 out of 10 ) I love this movie, it's the best ever.
Sean (10 out of 10 ) This movie is one of the best slashers I have seen in years. Even though it is in black and white and looks a bit phony it is still brill. First time I saw this movie I was in my friend's house. We all sat down and eagerly awaited the bloody shower scene. This is Hitchcock's best film and I don't think he could do it any better. This script was wrote in December 1959 and was shot and released in 1960. When the film was released it sent shockwaves around the world. It was rated X in all countries. Hitchcock only received one letter of complaint. It was by a parent saying "I let my 10 year old daughter watch this movie (idiot) and she refuses to take a shower". Hitchcock sent a letter back saying "Send her to the dry cleaners". I would recommend this movie to anyone because it is better than any slasher I have and will ever see. Hitchcock is one of my favorite Directors because he plans out all his movies and takes his time during Pre-production (preparing for the movie). I will recommend PSYCHO to anyone, it's my favorite movie.
dwc (10 out of 10 ) This is one of the best movies ever and definitely Hitchcock's best film. Hitchcock always makes you think you know what's happening but then you find out you had no idea. Many other directors and writers use the classic moments in this film; such as on pulp fiction when Butch is in his car driving from his apartment when he stops and Marcellus is walking across the road and sees Butch, just like when Marion sees her boss. The shower scene is definitely the best scene in the movie and possibly the biggest twist.
Thor (10 out of 10 ) I don't understand why everyone is sucking Alfred Hitchcock's dick over this screen play. He neither wrote the script or the book, so on a site like this, it is unnecessary to bring up his name. At the very most you can note that the director overlooked the adaptation from book to script. Nonetheless, we can all get on our knees in terms of his direction. And while we're there, Sean, Hitchcock filmed it in black and white to adhere to production costs, but couldn't you agree that the added surrealism from the film stocks makes the movie all the more interesting?
Regardless of all that, this script is delicious and set the standard for a new style of film making.
evan M (10 out of 10 ) Awesome. This movie was scary, and clever. I did not expect Norman of being the killer when I first saw this when I was 10. If you haven't seen the movie, sorry for spoiling it.
Thor (10 out of 10 ) My mistake. Alfred Hitchcock is so cool! And my comment above was stupid and I didn't need to write it.
Laurence (10 out of 10 ) Credit for the success of this film goes to writers Bloch and Stefano, who crafted the script Hitchcock followed. Hitchcock once said that the three most important aspects of a film were the script, the script and the script. Let's give credit where credit is due.
Gavin (9 out of 10 ) The script for Psycho is very very good and has some excellent black humour tucked away throughout. No need for argument over whether to applaud Hitchcock, Stefano or Bloch as the treatment of a script was all important to Hitch. He viewed it as a collaborative process and at the peak of his ability, Hitch and his team developed a classic.
